This is an ongoing investigation and potential consumer class action lawsuit against American Airlines relating to the manner in which American Airlines compensates passengers when American Airlines loses their luggage.
Passengers of American Airlines have alleged a variety of practices by American Airlines that taken together bring into question AMerican AIrlines policies and practices when AMerican AIrlines losses a passengers luggage. Some of those allegations include:
1. After losing your luggage, AMerican Airlines contends that your claim is precluded, in whole or in part, by its liability-limitation policy;
2. After losing your luggage, AMerican Airlines refuses to make you whole by claiming that you have not provided sufficient documentation to support your claim;
3. After losing your luggage, American Airlines only partially reimburses you for your claim without specifically identifying the items it excluded from reimbursement; and/or
4. After losing your luggage, American Airlines provides only a vague explanation of the reason(s) it denied your claim or refused to reimburse you for certain items.
This ongoing investigation against American Airlines also centers around complaints by passengers who paid American Airlines to transport their bags, had their bags delayed, and did not receive a refund of the amount they paid to transport those bag(s).
