AT&T may be charging late fees to wireless customers even though those customers are submitting monthly payments to AT&T in a timely manner.

This is an ongoing investigation and potential class action against AT&T. This investigation centers around AT&T's billing practices and whether AT&T is charging late fees to its wireless customers even though those customers have paid their bills on time.

AT&T, a household name, operates one of the largest wireless cell phone and data networks in the country. Generally, AT&T offers to consumers subscription packages whereby a consumer can access AT&T's wireless network for a monthly fee, which can be a flat rate fee or a usage fee.

This class action investigation involves some customers of AT&T that have reported they have paid their monthly fee on time and AT&T has still charged those customers a late fee. One one report, an i-phone user paid AT&T via electronic funds transfer directly from his bank account and has evidence that AT&T received payment before the bill's due date. Apparently, AT&T did not credit the account in a timely manner, even though AT&T had possession of the funds and therefore charged this customer a late fee.
