Best Buy and Microsoft may have unlawfully charged Best Buy customers for MSN internet service even though those Best Buy customers never logged onto MSN for a free trial service.
This is a class action lawsuit for a nationwide class of over 300,000 consumers alleging that Best Buy and Microsoft violated the Washington State Consumer Protection Act when they charged consumers for MSN internet services they never used.
Best Buy and Microsoft teamed up to offer a promotion to all Best Buy customers. Best Buy customers could sign up for a free trial subscription to Microsoft's MSN internet service. Many of these Best Buy customers were still charged for the MSN internet service, even though once they signed up for the trial subscriptions to Microsoft's MSN internet service, the Best Buy customer never logged onto or used MSN, but were charged regular monthly fees by Microsoft after the trial period ended.
