Investigation and potential lawsuit against Chrysler for Chrysler's design, manufacture and sale of the Jeep Grand Cherokee for model years 1991 through 2001.

The Grand Cherokee can slip from park to reverse. The NHTSA is investigating reported problems with this popular SUV because of slipping from park to reverse. NHTSA is reported to have received reports of at least five deaths and over 50 injuries as a result of the alleged defect. Originally believed to involve only the 95-99 model years it now appears that Grand Cherokees for all model years from 1991 to 2001 have the suspected defect.
