Investigation and potential class action against AT&T.
The investigation centers around consumer reports that AT&T's DSL Service Plans do not achieve the speed that is promised by AT&T. Certain DSL Service Plans sold to consumers by AT&T promise faster speed than dial-up Internet service and are sold to the consumer at a greater cost. However, it appears that the speed may not be as fast as promised and, as a result, consumers sometimes are unable to access the Internet, or get disconnected while on the Internet.
The DSL Service Plans under investigation include the following: AT&T High Speed Internet Basic, AT&T High Speed Internet Express, AT&T High Speed Internet Pro and AT&T High Speed Internet Elite.
