Investigation and pending class action lawsuit against nine of the leading carriers that provide less-than-truckload freight (LTF) shipping services.
The class action complaint alleges that each of the defendants conspired to fix the levels of fuel surcharges imposed on shippers who do business with them. The proposed class consists of all direct purchasers of LTL freight transportation services from defendants who paid LTL fuel surcharges from July 31, 2003 to the present.
The LTF carriers named are : Arkansas Best Corporation; ABF Freight System; Averitt Express, Inc; Con-Way Inc; Con-way Freight Inc; Estes Express; FedEx Freight Corporation; FedEx National LTL, Inc; Old Dominion Freight Line, Inc; Saia, Inc.; YRC Worldwide, Inc.; Yellow Transportation, Inc.; and Roadway Express, Inc.
